DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING PLATE WIDTH OF THICK STEEL PLATE

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the yield of thick steel plate by controlling a rolling adjusting means based on a difference between both plate widths detected on the inlet and outlet sides of a rolling means and adjusting rolling characteristics. CONSTITUTION:A steel stock (slab) 7 delivered from a rough rolling mill 6 is passed through a finish rolling mill (rolling means) 8 and a straightener 9 to be a thick steel plate. A roll drafting device 8e of a rolling adjustment driving means is controlled based on a difference between a plate width detected by a width gage 5 of an inlet side width detecting means installed in the inlet side of the rolling means 8 and a plate width detected by a width gage 10 of an outlet side plate width detecting means to adjust rolling characteristics of the rolling means 8. Thus, the yield of thick steel plates is improved.
