<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the degradation of picture quality by forecasting data by plural encoding systems, and transmitting forecast errors when the data are forecasted by a forecasting method so that the forecast error can be made minimum. CONSTITUTION:Out of (n)-kinds of the data, only one kind of the data are sampled and transmitted, and to (n-1)-kind of the thinned-out data, forecast encoding is executed according to the respective various plural forecasting methods in plural forecasting means 4 and 6. Next, in forecast error detecting means 5 and 7, forecast signals in the respective forecasting means 4 and 6 are collated with the thinned-out (n-1)-kinds of the data and the forecast errors are detected in the respective forecasting methods. Then, the respective forecast errors are compared and the forecasting method to make the forecast error minimum and a minimum forecast error signal are selected and transmitted together with sampling data. Based on these transmitted sampling data, forecasting method and minimum forecast error signal, the (n-1)-kind of interpolation data are generated and based on the transmitted sampling data and interpolation data, the n-kinds of digital picture data are decoded. Thus, the degradation of the picture can be reduced.</p> |
