PURPOSE:To eliminate overcharge and increase the life of a battery by performing a constant voltage control charge by a total timer. CONSTITUTION:A charge current is set at 1.2A, a control voltage at 2.45V/cell, and a set time for a total timer at 12hours, a constant voltage of 2.40V/cell is applied for 12 hours at a cycle of 20days, and a battery is opened while the voltage is not applied. Measuring a total charged quantity of electricity for three months for this method and a conventional method respectively, the charged quantity for this method was 2.2times larger, and only a charge for compensating a self-charged quantity is necessary in this method, thereby the life characteristics are improved. |
