Tapered roller bearing cage has an inner (11) and outer (12) ring connected by ribs (13). There are pockets (16) on the underside of the ribs (13) as well as openings (18) on the lower circumferential surface (9) of the inner ring (11) between adjacent ribs (13). The inner ring (11) can have additional pockets (20) with slanted sides on the upper circumferential surface (8). The cage can be made of polyamide. A conical roller bearing cage (10) has ribs (13) with vanes (6) to assist in distributing grease into side pockets (16). A series of funnel shaped openings (18) are formed by grease collectors (19). The collected grease is scraped back by the walls (22) of pockets (20) and is recirculated. USE/ADVANTAGE - Provides improved circulation of lubricating grease within the bearing.
