Biodegradable aliphatic polyester particles, processes for producing the particles and melt-extrusion films comprising the polyester wherein at least 70% by weight of the particles have a diameter of from 150 mu m to 3mm and wherein the particles: (a) contain a recurring unit of the formula (1) as a main recurring unit and have a weight average molecular weight of from 20,000 to 2,000,000; and (b) have a bulk specific gravity of from 0.3 to 0.6 g/ml.
