FIELD: casting ingots of high-reaction metals and alloys such as titanium by way of vacuum electric-arc remelting. SUBSTANCE: at moulding of expendable electrode, first portion of burden materials is given no alloying additives. At moulding of electrodes of high-alloy metals, alloying additives are introduced into first portion of burden materials in amount of 30-70%. This ensures stability of chemical composition of cast alloys, reduces heterogeneity of metal structure and adds stability to physical and mechanical properties.
