OPTICAL ROUTER FOR BIDIRECTIONAL OPTICAL TRANSMISSION NETWORK

PURPOSE: An optical router for a bidirectional optical transmission network is provided to have an effect equivalent to a multi-wavelength DWDM(Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) using a general optical source when it has many transmitting and receiving channels and a DWDM optical source is limited by performing a bidirectional communication using a circulator element and transmitting two inter-different wavelengths through one optical line. CONSTITUTION: The first circulator(110) connects to a forward optical connector 1(101) and a reverse optical connector 1(102) and forms a forward transmission channel and a reverse transmission channel. The second circulator(120) connects to a forward optical connector 2(103) and a reverse optical connector 2(104) and a forward transmission channel and a reverse transmission channel. A WDM module(150) connects between the first and second circulators(110,120) and the bidirectional optical connectors, multiplexes forward optical input, and demultiplexes reverse optical input.
