Production of crude hydrogen@ and electrical energy from hydrocarbon(s) and coal

Production of crude hydrogen and electrical energy from hydrocarbons and coal in an IGCC (integrated gasification combined cycle) process uses a gas turbine (17), a gasifier for the hydrocarbons and coal to synthesis gas, a quencher for the synthesis gas (8) with water, and a shift converter (9) for a partial stream of the quenched synthesis gas to shifted synthesis gas. On shift conversion of all the synthesis gas, the shifted synthesis gas is divided into two physical scrubs or the shifted and non-shifted synthesis gas are each physically scrubbed.
