PURPOSE:To obtain large resistance force against destruction by rotating a key detecting lever by the insertion of a key when the key is inserted in a steering lock device, and moving a key cylinder to the inside through the lever to operate the key detecting switch. CONSTITUTION:When a key 28 is inserted in a key cylinder 16, a key detecting lever 33 is turned clockwise, whereby the key cylinder 16 is moved against springs 29, 59, and the other end of a lever main body 34 presses the inner surface of a cover 13. Accordingly, while the key detecting lever 33 is turned, the key cylinder 16 is moved to the inside position, so that a cam 51 formed on a flange portion 15 of the key cylinder 16 is moved to such a position as to be engaged with a cam contact portion 27c of a hanger 27. Simultaneously, a key detecting switch not shown of a connecting member 23 is turned on. When the key cylinder 16 is turned by the key 28 under such a condition, the hanger 27 is moved to an unlock position through a locking rod 20 by the cam 51. |
