PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic base material constituted by allowing a multilayered coating consisting of metals or metallic compounds to adhere to the surface of a metallic base material, and particularly an article having an external appearance of highly polished brass and also having corrosion resistance and wear resistance. SOLUTION: This article is composed of a base material constituted by disposing a multilayered coating, containing a layer 14 composed of semi-matt nickel, a layer composed of lustrous nickel 16, a layer 18 composed of palladium, a layer 20 composed of palladium-nickel alloy, a layer composed of zirconium or titanium, a laminated layer 26 consisting of plural alternate layers composed of zirconium or titanium and zirconium compound or titanium compound, and a layer composed of zirconium compound or titanium compound, at least on a part of the surface of a base material 12. |
