<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer attribute information extracted by means of a filter to a server by providing an interface or the like for transmitting at least master document data from a server to the filter and transmitting print ready data and extracted attribute data from the filter to the server. SOLUTION: A client 410 transmits a printing request to a server 420 in the form of a document package. The package includes master document data and document attribute data concerning the printing request and a document. When the printing request is received, the server 420 stores attribute data in an attribute database 430, and the server 420 calls a filter 440. The called filter 440 transmits requests to acquire master document information and document attribute data to the server 420 through a filter interface 470. When the requests are received, the server 420 transmits requested information to the filter 440 through the filter interface 470.</p> |
