<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coordinate detector which can improve the signal S/N and has no demerit despite its power saving by electrically connecting a shielded conductor barrel of a signal pen to the circuit ground of the coordinate detector and covering the conductor barrel with an insulating cover of a specific thickness. SOLUTION: When the tip of a coordinate pointing signal pen 4 is set on the surface of a tablet 9, the coordinates of the tip of the pen 4 are detected on the surface of the tablet 9. The output of an AC signal generator 11 is applied to a tip stylus conductor of the pen 4 via a shielded cord 10. When the AC electric signal is received from the pen 4, the tablet 9 having an electrode 2 of low resistance which is adhered around a resistor having the two- dimensionally even surface resistance is used. Then a shielded conductor barrel of the pen 4 is connected to the circuit ground of a coordinate detector and also covered with an insulating cover of <=1.5 mm thickness. The current consumption of the coordinate detector can be reduced despite its high voltage drive since the pen 4 is driven by electric signals and accordingly a high impedance is secured.</p> |
