PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a first sheet or booklet of becoming unusable by folding it along an improper folding line when a number of sheets are folded. SOLUTION: This device is a folding device for folding one or a number of sheets in two to make a booklet. The folding device is provided with adjustable stoppers 30, 31 to which a sheet to be folded is fitted. A measuring gear which is rotated by supplying the sheet so as to measure the length of the sheet to be supplied is arranged on a sheet supply passage for a collecting tray 10. Based on the above measurement, the stoppers 30, 31 are adjusted so that a folding roller 11 arranged with the center thereof between the stoppers 30, 31 fixed allows the sheet to coincide with the folding position. |
