The invention relates to a safety device for controlling and/or monitoring defined rooms, comprising a control device, which is connected to an operating unit, sensors and a signaling device. The invention is characterized in that the actuating elements of the operating unit are embodied exclusively by virtual key symbols represented on a screen, the control device comprises an internal memory in which identification numbers of a similar safety device can be stored and in which a code which unambiguously identifies the safety device itself is stored, and the threshold for the output of information can be automatically modified by means of the control device in accordance with the environmental conditions detected by the sensors. The invention also provides for a communication device for establishing contact with similar safety devices.
