The device has a light source which consists of independently controllable light emitters, such as green/blue LEDs (2b,c), arranged in several lines. A controller drives the light emitters based on a signal corresponding to the image information. The light source and the light-sensitive material (1) are movable relative to each other, perpendicular to the line direction. A mask is arranged between the light source and the light-sensitive material and is structured so that predetermined part of each light emitter is covered. The mask has openings which are mutually displaced from line to line to produce a skew column arrangement. An Independent claim is included for an exposure device.
