PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve low temperature characteristics and safety by including a nonaqueous organic solvent containing cyclic carbonate, chain carbonate and alkylacetate, and preferably lithium salt. SOLUTION: In this electrolyte a nonaqueous organic solvent preferably includes 20 to 70 vol.% of cyclic carbonate, 20 to 70 vol.% of chain carbonate and 5 to 60 vol.% of alkylacetate. As the cyclic carbonate, ethylenecarbonate, propylenecarbonate or a mixture of these is preferable. As the chain carbonate, dimethylcarbonate, diethylcarbonate or a mixture of these is preferable. As alkylacetate with a low melting point, which is added for improving low temperature characteristics of a battery, n-methylacetate and n-ethylacetate are named; more preferably, n-propylacetate is named. |
