PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lightweight plastic foam hardly providing static charge by friction on the surface, excellent in shock-absorbing properties and electromagnetic wave-shielding characteristics, and useful as an electromagnetic wave- shielding member by foam-molding a specific resin composition while regulating the thickness within a specified range and exposing the metal powder on the surface at the top layer. SOLUTION: This plastic foam is obtained by foam-molding a resin composition consisting essentially of (A) 100 pts.wt. polyolefin-based resin (e.g. a low density polyethylene), preferably of a (co)polymer of an olefinic hydrocarbon, (B) 1-50 pts.wt. foaming agent such as azodicabonamide, and (C) 100-1,000 pts.wt. metal powder preferably having a flaky, granular or acicular shape, while regulating the thickness so as to be 2-8 mm, and exposing the metal powder on the surface of the top layer. The foamed body is obtained by preparing the resin composition, foam-molding the composition so as to form the before thickness, and removing the surface of the molded product at 10-500μm.
