The differential includes a pair of distinct clutches (3a,3b), each being interposed between the engine (10) and one of these half-shafts (50a,50b) and able to be independently controlled by a computer. It is also possible to distribute the engine torque to each one of these semi-shafts of the wheel with gears, as a function of the rolling conditions to which the wheel is subjected to. The device includes a differential for an automotive vehicle, which transmits the rotary movement of an IC engine shaft (10), such as an output shaft from the gearbox (B), to two half-shafts (50a,50b), each of which are connected to the drive wheels (Ra,Rb).
