PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for circuit simulation and a simulator that can analyze an electromagnetic field of the sate that circuit elements mounted on electronic circuits are connected to a pattern and obtains divided currents to flow through the pattern. SOLUTION: An analytical equation set-up unit 24 for the electromagnetic field lays down the analytical equations for the electromagnetic field, which show the state of electromagnetic coupling among each point of the pattern, on the basis of the pattern information input from an input unit 22 and substrate information stored in a database 27. A circuit equation set up unit 25 sets forth the circuit equations based upon circuit element characteristics input from the input unit 25. An analysis unit 26 solves a system of the equations that are formulated by combining the analytical equations for the electromagnetic field with the circuit equations. Thus, the circuit simulator can analyze the electromagnetic field in the state that circuit elements are connected to the pattern.
