HEAD SUPPORTING MECHANISM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the tracking correction of an information recording device at a high speed with high accuracy without a response delay. SOLUTION: A load beam 20 with which an actuator arm 4 is fitted is fitted with a flexure 30 and the front end of the flexure 30 is fitted with a slider supporting member 32. A slider 50 mounted with a head 60 for recording/ reproducing is fixed to the slider supporting member 32. The slider supporting member 32 is freely turnably supported by a projection 28 on the free end side of the load beam 20. A pair of thin-film piezoelectric elements 40a and 40b which are constituted with the portions of the flexure on both sides of the projection 28 to elastic hinges 33d and 33e of a constricted shape and are stuck to the flexure 30 are elongated and contracted in the tracking correction, by which force is acted on the slider supporting member 32 through the elastic hinges 33d and 33e and the slider 50 is turned around the projection 28 as the center of turning together with the slider supporting member.
