PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated fibrous pipe heat insulating material system, dispensing with an auxiliary outer PVC jacket to give water vapor barrier performance to a pipe heat insulating material system. SOLUTION: This pipe heat insulating material system includes a tubular core part formed of a fiber heat insulating material coated with flexible polymer. The coated tubular core part has a first slit extending in the longitudinal direction to completely penetrate the wall of the core part and a second slit extended in the longitudinal direction on the inner surface of the tubular core part, located on the opposite side to the first slit, and served as a hinge to open and close the tubular core part to dispose the coated tubular core part in the periphery of the pipe. Preferably, the coated material has water vapor permeability equal to or less than 0.02 perm, and further the system includes a sealing material for sealing the first slit, wherein the outer surface layer of the sealed coated tubular core part formed by the coating material and the sealing material in the case of use in a low temperature pipe system has water vapor permeability equal to or less than 0.02 perm.
