PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give a non-linear spring characteristic in relation to extension deformation in the axial direction. SOLUTION: This air spring is formed by air-tightly connecting each of end parts of a cylindrical diaphragm 3 to each of a piston 1 and a shell 2, which has a diameter larger than that of the piston 1, by an inside/outside reversed attitude at an intermediate part thereof, and bringing an outer cylinder 4 fitted to the shell 2 in contact with the peripheral surface of the diaphragm 3 in the inside/outside reversed attitude, and gradually reducing a clearance between the outer cylinder 4 and the piston 1 at least from an intermediate part of the outer cylinder 4 toward a free end thereof.
