PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber enhanced in vibration buffer action and to provide a cover made of metal enhanced in sound insulation performance. SOLUTION: This shock absorber 21 comprises: a shock absorbing member 40 of an approximately annular shape arranged to envelope a bolt 7; a grommet 41 in which a second holding part 43 for holding the shock absorbing member 40, a coupling part 45, and a first holding part 44 for holding a heat insulator 3 are arranged in this order from an exhaust manifold 2 side; and a collar member 22 arranged between the bolt 7 and the shock absorbing member 40 and having a pair of flanges 28 and 31 holding the shock absorbing member 40 each with a gap formed therebetween from both sides in an axial direction, and coupling part 27 coupling the flanges 28 and 31 with each other and having a gap 37 in a radial direction with respect to the shock absorbing member 40.
