PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which the contour correction amount can be altered automatically depending on an object being imaged without requiring any switch operation. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprising an image sensor 1, a circuit 2 for processing the output signal therefrom to produce a video signal, and a circuit 24 for correcting the contour of the video signal produced from the signal processing circuit 2 is further provided with a circuit 4 for analyzing the imaging signal or the video signal, and a control circuit 5 for altering the contour correction amount of the contour correction circuit 24 based on the results from the analyzing circuit 4 such that the contour correction is set in normal state for a scene image and emphasized for a text image. Contour correction amount can be altered to an appropriate level automatically without requiring switch operation every time when a sample to be imaged is changed. |
