ERRONEOUS CONNECTION DETECTION SYSTEM OF CABLE IN PRINTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect erroneous connection of a video interface cable between a printer controller section and a printer engine section through a simple system in order to confirm connection of the interface cable in a printer performing print processing through a command interface and a plurality of video interfaces between the printer controller section and the printer engine section separated from each other. SOLUTION: A transmission request command of a response signal for confirming connection of each video interface cable is transmitted from a printer controller section to a printer engine section through a command interface. In accordance with the transmission request command of a response signal for confirming connection of each video interface cable thus received, the printer engine section transmits the response signal to the printer controller section through the video interface. The printer controller section compares it with a previously expected signal to detect erroneous connection between the printer controller section and the printer engine section.
