PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid electrolytic capacitor employing niobium or a niobium alloy in an anode wherein an increase in leakage current can be suppressed sufficiently by preventing a dielectric layer from cracking when a heat treatment process such as a reflow process is carried out. SOLUTION: In a solid electrolytic capacitor comprising an anode 1 employing niobium or a niobium alloy and a dielectric layer 2 formed by oxidizing the anode, an anode material manufactured by coating the surface of niobium or the niobium alloy 1a with a niobium silicide 1b is employed in the anode and silicon is added to the dielectric layer.
