PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration absorbing supporting device for improving the ride comfort of a vehicle by cutting off the transmission of vibration from a road surface without reducing the performance of interrupting engine noises. SOLUTION: In the state in which an actuator 35 does not constrain the movement of a movable plate 28, vibrational liquid pressure produced in a first liquid chamber 22 sectioned inside an elastic body 17 is absorbed by the vibration of the movable plate 28. The expanded elasticity of a combination of the elastic body 17 and the movable plate 28 is therefore reduced to reduce the dynamic spring constant of the vibration absorbing supporting device, thus effectively interrupting engine noises. In the state that the movement of the movable plate 28 is constrained, as shown in Fig, the vibrational liquid pressure produced in the first liquid chamber is not absorbed by the vibration of the movable plate 28. The expanded elasticity is therefore increased to increase the dynamic spring constant of the vibration absorbing supporting device but liquid moves between first and second liquid chambers 22, 23 via a damping passage 30 with a capacity change of the first liquid chamber 22 to generate damping force which damps the vibration, thus improving the ride comfort of the vehicle.
