PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device, a method, and a program for log data recording that can record image data by which an image of high quality can be reproduced as to a specified image and reproduce the entire area of an image represented by the image data while reducing a storage capacity for the image data. SOLUTION: When log data representing processing contents of specified processing as to the image data are recorded on a hard disk 30 while the image data are included when the specified processing is executed, it is decided whether the image represented by the image data is a predetermined document image and when it is decided that the image is the predetermined document image, a compression/expansion processing section 32 is controlled to compress the image data with compressibility lower than that of the other case, thereby recording the log data on the hard disk 30 while the compressed image data are included.
