PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image displaying device and an image recording device capable of displaying still images captured by a user by scaling processing, and recording the necessary still images after confirmation. SOLUTION: When a user wants to capture still images from moving images; the side-by-side display processing unit 5b of an image output unit 5 performs processing when the still image key 29 of an R/C control unit 15 is depressed, the screen of a display unit 6 is divided into two parts, moving images are displayed on the left part of the image screen, and the captured still images are displayed on the right part of the image screen. The user confirms a moving image and a still image simultaneously through a side-by-side display, furthermore a cursor is displayed by a cursor display processing unit 5d, and an image located in the region can be scaled by the zoom key 30 of the R/C control unit 15 through a scaled display processing unit 5c.
