PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output the most suitable image data without deleting information of the image data. SOLUTION: In a digital copying machine 1, a first processing unit 121 converts input image data from a scanner to image data in an extended color space. A second processing unit 122 converts the image data in the extended color space after the conversion to image data of a device color space. An output unit 14 outputs the image data after conversion in the second processing unit 122 to an output apparatus. The first processing unit 121 discriminates input image data form from the scanner, calculates a normalization parameter of the input image data and the extended color space according to the discrimination, and converts the input image data to the extended color space by the normalization parameter.
