PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver for performing two-way operation for a video image content to which a user paid attention before service switching operation, even after the service switching operation is performed. SOLUTION: A digital broadcast receiver 10 includes a CPU 32. When service switching operation is performed under a data broadcast fixing condition, the CPU 32 performs setting of a digital tuner 18 in accordance with the direction of the service switching operation. In a video processing circuit 44, the TV broadcast video image received by a digital tuner 16 is generated to an area A formed on a monitor 50, while a character generator 42 generates character data given by the CPU 32, on an area B formed on the monitor 50. A menu item for realizing two-way of first video image contents is generated continuously even if the part of the first video image content is replaced by part of the second video image content.
