A lightweight adiabatic block for construction is provided to cut down on the cost of materials and to simplify construction process by placing finishing materials to a block main body made of expandable synthetic resins and finishing up the inner and outer walls of a building. A lightweight adiabatic block(1) for construction is made of expandable synthetic resins and composed of a block main body(10) having a fitting projection(20) and a fitting groove(21) at the bottom to prevent the formation of a gap when piling up with other blocks, thereby to prevent the phenomenon of thermal bridges and moisture transmission, a lateral fitting projection(25) at one side and a lateral fitting groove(26) at the other side to couple with other blocks, and many projections(40) at the front and many grooves(41) at the rear, wherein a portion of the upper part of the block main body is cut into the L-shape and a circular fitting projection is formed on the upper part of the cut part and coupled a fitting groove of another block, and finishing materials such as cement mortar are filled in the grooves.
