PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve steering feeling by improving responsiveness of steering assistance when the operating direction of an operating member is reversed. SOLUTION: The target rotating speed of an electric motor serving as a generating source for steering assisting force given to a steering mechanism is set according to the vehicle speed and the steering angle speed (S7). The target rotating speed can be set between the standby rotating speed and a designated upper limit value. When unidirectional continuous turning steering for continuously turning a steering wheel in one direction more than a fixed angle is detected (S4), the lowest value of target rotating speed is limited to a value larger than the standby rotating speed (S6). The limit state of the lowest target rotating speed is released (S11) on condition that a significant steering angle change is not caused for three seconds (S9). |
