<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve mounting properties to an engine room of an automatic transmission transversely mounted in the engine room provided with a side frame at a side. <P>SOLUTION: A transmission case 6 comprises a body case 101, and an end cover 102 blocking an opening end at the rear side thereof. A third brake 80 is stored in an end at the end cover 102 side in the transmission case 6. Friction plates 82 of the third brake are stored and retained in a drum 102a provided at the outer circumference 102" of the end cover. A hydraulic chamber 85 applying hydraulic pressure to a piston 84 for making the friction plates engaged with each other is provided at the inner circumference 102' of the end cover 102 to put the outer circumference 102" of the end cover at the front side of the inner circumference part 102'. Consequently, a layout making the end of the end cover 102 side of the automatic transmission get under the side frame A in the engine room can be achieved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
