PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling a surface temperature in a computing device are provided to transit devices to a power-saving mode if a surface temperature increases, thereby minimizing performance deterioration of the computing device. CONSTITUTION: One or more temperature sensors(108) measure a surface temperature. If the measured surface temperature is higher than an upper limit threshold value, a controller(112) transits at least one among devices to a power saving mode according to priority.
