PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of obtaining a correction amount for correcting periodic positional fluctuations in a main scanning direction of an image formed on an image carrier accurately by a small number of integrating operations without being affected by periodic positional fluctuation caused by a supporting rotational body of a belt member.SOLUTION: A control part 101 executes an adjustment mode for adjusting at least one of a forming position in a main scanning direction of an electrostatic image of an image at a plurality of phase positions of a photosensitive drum 1Y and a forming magnification in the main scanning direction. In the adjustment mode, a difference amount between positional information in the main scanning direction of an adjustment toner image acquired by using image sensors IS1, IS2 and positional information in the main scanning direction of an intermediate transfer belt 9 acquired by using an approach sensor YS is integrated by respectively corresponding to the plurality of phase positions of the photosensitive drum 1Y so as to acquire correction data for exposure control. |
