ELECTROCHEMICAL CONCENTRATION MEASUREMENT METHOD OF ENDOTOXIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means capable of easily measuring concentration of endotoxin with higher sensitivity (100 pg/mL order) compared to conventional electrochemical measurement.SOLUTION: The electrochemical concentration measurement method is a method to measure the concentration of endotoxin contained in a sample, the method including the steps of: (1) bringing a sample into contact with a carrier on which a first endotoxin recognition molecule is fixed to capture and concentrate the endotoxin in the sample on the carrier; (2) bringing an endotoxin recognition probe, which contains a heavy metal compound and a second endotoxin recognition molecule, into contact with the carrier to capture the endotoxin recognition probe on to the endotoxin on the carrier; (3) allowing the endotoxin recognition probe to react with an acid solution to elute heavy metal ion from the heavy metal compound of the probe; and (4) measuring the amount of the eluted heavy metal ion in an electrochemical manner using a working electrode for measuring the heavy metal ion. The concentration of the endotoxin in the sample is measured by using the amount of the heavy metal ion as the index.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
