PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink set which is excellent in image clarity and can record an image having suppressed interference unevenness, when clear ink and pigment ink are used together.SOLUTION: An ink set has an aqueous ink set having a combination of a first ink containing no coloring material and a second ink containing a coloring material. The first ink contains a water-soluble resin and resin particles. The second ink contains a self-dispersible pigment in which a resin is bonded to the surface of particles of a pigment, as a coloring material. A ration B/A of an acid value B (mgKOH/g) of the resin in the second ink to an acid value A (mgKOH/g) of the water soluble resin in the first ink is 0.75 or more and 1.75 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
