PURPOSE:To regenerate an ion exchanger efficiently without using chemicals by joining both ends of cation and anion exchangers and treating electrochemically after passing through between electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The end of an anion exchange belt 2 and that of a cation exchange belt 3 ion exchanged by treated water are joined and passed through between electrodes 7, 6 to partition electrolytic solution, and voltage is applied between the electrodes 7, 6. Thus, ions that ion exchanged the cation exchange belt 3 migrate to an anion chamber 9, and ios that ion exchanged the anion exchange belt 2 migrate to the cation chamber 10. H<+> ions formed on the anode 7 migrate toward the cathode and ion exchange the cation exchange belt 3 to make it H type. OH<-> ions formed on the cathode 6 migrate toward the anode 7 and ion exchange the anion exchange belt 2 to make it OH type. By this way, the ion exchanger is regenerated continuously. |
