PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body having high spectral sensitivity in 700-1,000nm region and to improve long period stability thereof by incorporating a singlet oxygen quencher, particularly, a chelate compd. of a transition metal into an electrophotographic sensitive body. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductive layer contg. ZnO, an electrophilic compd., a binder resin, a cyanine dye, and a singlet oxygen quencher is formed on an electroconductive base body. Said electrophilic compd. is used as a spectral sensitizing additive. Said singlet oxygen quencher functions to transform a singlet oxygen generated in the system to triplet state, and to prevent deterioration due to oxidation of a cyanine dye. A chelate compd. of a transition metal is preferred as the single oxygen quencher to be added because of its higher effect for improving the stability, light resistance of an electrophotographic sensitive body, effect for increasing adsorption of long wavelength light, and superior compatibility with the dye, etc. Thus, high sensitivity for long wavelength light having 700-1,000nm wavelength is obtd., and the stability for light and head and long period preservability are obtd. |
