The process involves the use of yarns of two different types in the fabric pile, one being shiny and the other matt. Various brilliant/matt effects are obtained by intercalating the two types of yarn in different ways; displacement of the bars of pile yarns in weaving on a Raschel machine; or use of Raschel machines with JAcquard machines.
