<p>PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition not containing any metal salt by adding hexamethylene tetramine and 5-bromo-5-nitro-1,3-dioxane to a 3- isothiazolone compound and preparing the mixture in a mixed solvent. CONSTITUTION: This stabilized aquoeus microbicide composition is obtained by combining a 3-isothiazolone compound of the formula (Y is H or an alkyl; X and X' are each H or a halogen), hexamethylene tetramine, 5-bromo-5- nitro-1,3-dioxane and a water-miscible organic solvent or a mixed solvent comprising the water-miscible organic solvent and water. Preferably, a mixture of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one and 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one in a weight ratio of (3/1)-(10/1) is used as the 3-isothiazolone. Preferably, 0.01-1.0 wt.% of hexamethylene tetramine and 0.1-1.0 wt.% of 5-bromo-5-nitro-1,3dioxane are used in the composition. Dipropylene glycol is preferable as the water- miscible organic solvent. The composition is stable for a long period of time and does not generate any precipitation.</p> |
