RUBBER COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain a rubber composition which has improved processability and therefore can give a rubber article free from deterioration in the properties and heat resistance by mixing a hydrocarbon rubber with a vulcanizer and/or a crosslinking agent and a product of hydrogenation of a specified petroleum resin. CONSTITUTION:This rubber composition is obtained by mixing a hydrocarbon rubber with a vulcanizer and/or a crosslinking agent and a product by hydrogenation of a petroleum resin having a bromine value of 10g/100g or below (a compound by hydrogenating the residual C-C double bonds of a petroleum resin obtained by cationically polymerizing or radical-polymerizing a mixture of unsaturated hydrocarbons formed by thermally cracking, e.g. petroleum naphtha and/or a product by purification of it in the presence of, e.g. a noble catalyst). This composition is improved in processability without causing any deterioration in the properties and heat resistance of the product to be produced and is reduced in the occurrence of crosslinking troubles in peroxide crosslinking.
