<p>The present invention relates generally to regulatory elements for cytokine molecules. The regulatory elements comprise both nucleotide sequences and non-nucleic acid molecules capable of interacting or otherwise associating with these nucleotide sequences. More particularly, the present invention provides a regulatory nucleotide sequence for the cytokine interleukin-5 (IL-5) or a variant thereof or a cytokine related thereto and repressor molecules capable of interaction or association with the regulatory nucleotide sequence. The identity of the regulatory nucleotide sequence for IL-5 and related cytokines permits the development of therapeutic molecules and therapeutic protocols for diseases associated with IL-5 or related cytokines.</p> |
