The load regulating process is for an engine with at least two banks of cylinders with adjustable fuel supply. The internal pressure in the region of each bank (2,3) is evaluated by a pressure sensor (4, 5), supplying readings to an evaluation unit which calculates the average values of the indicated average pressures for the individual banks and compares them, controlling the fuel supply to them on this basis.
