<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a golf ball capable of obtaining a molding with good workability and suited for a component material of the golf ball very excellent in driving feel and durability, and a golf ball having a vulcanization molding of the rubber composition excellent in driving feel and durability. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for a golf ball provides a vulcanization molding with a specific gravity of less than 1, obtained by blending a metallic salt of an unsaturated carboxylic acid of 5 to 10 parts by mass, an inorganic filler of not more than 2 parts by mass, and an initiator in an amount of 10 to 30 mass% of the amount by which the metallic salt of the unsaturated carboxylic acid is blended, into base rubber of 100 parts by mass which contains syndiotactic-1,2-polybutadiene of 5 to 30 mass% and cis-1,4-polybutadiene of 40 mass% or more. The golf ball made from the composition is provided.</p> |
