PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating end mill suitable for a bottom face finish machining of an aluminum alloy, capable of improving finished face roughness of the bottom face, and capable of improving greatly abrasion resistance by coating a coating film. SOLUTION: Concavity of a bottom cutting edge 10 formed on a roughly- cylindrical tool body head part is composed from a primary cutting edge 2 on the circumferential cutting edge 8 corner side and a secondary cutting edge 3 formed continuously from the primary cutting edge 2. A concavity angleαof the primary cutting edge 2 is 3'-30', and a concavity angleβof the secondary cutting edge 3 is 1 deg.-5 deg., and the relation between the concavity angleαof the primary cutting edge 2 and the concavity angleβof the secondary cutting edge 3 isα<β, and the quantity of the primary cutting edge 2 is 0.6%-6.5% of the outer diameter in length, and a coating film 5 with a thickness of 0.002-0.05 mm is coated on at least the primary cutting edge 2 of an end mill head part.
