PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of a diaphragm type carburetor so as to satisfactorily adjust an inlet value. SOLUTION: In a diaphragm carburetor for an internal combustion engine, a regulating chamber 15 filled therein with fuel can be connected to a fuel inlet passage 13 through an inlet valve 14 which can be operated by a diaphragm type regulator 15. A first fuel passage 18 is extended from the regulating chamber to a main outlet valve 19 in a venturi section. A cross-sectional area of the main inlet valve 9 for a fuel flow is invariably fixed by at least one main nozzle 20. A lever 7 provided in a suction passage 4 is operated by a lever 29 which cooperates with an adjustable stopper 30. By adjusting the stopper 3O, the flow sectional area for combustion air 5 can be adjusted up to a predetermined limit for enriching the mixture, and can be enlarged within a limited range.
