PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of obtaining the stable glossiness of an image by appropriately executing a fixation processing, irrespective of the temperature of a recording medium, and also, to provide an image forming device equipped with the fixing device. SOLUTION: As for the fixing device 5 provided with a fixing roller 51 and a pressure roller 52 which is rotated in press contact with the fixing roller 51 through the recording material P with an unfixed image carried, and for fixing the unfixed image on the recording material P by making the recording material P pass through the press contact part between the fixing roller 51 and the pressure roller 52 and applying a heat and a pressure on the material P, the device 5 is provided with a temperature detecting means 16 for detecting the temperature of the recording material P, a control means for setting so that the fixation may be executed under the optimum fixation condition (fixation speed, fixation temperature and the pressurizing force required at the press- contact part) in accordance with the detected temperature information by the temperature detecting means 16.
