PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method for a silver halide color photographic sensitive material by which processing stability is considerably enhanced. SOLUTION: When a silver halide photosensitive material with photographic constituent layers containing a photosensitive silver halide emulsion on the substrate is subjected to image amplification processing after exposure to form a color image, an amplifying solution of pH 3-8 not containing halogen ions and a color developing agent but containing hydrogen peroxide or a compound which supplies hydrogen peroxide is applied as a thin layer to the surface of the silver halide photosensitive material containing a dye forming coupler and a reducing agent for color development represented by the formula in any of the photographic constituent layers to form the objective developed color image. In the formula, R11 is aryl which may have a substituent or a heterocyclic group, R12 is alkyl which may have a substituent, alkenyl, alkynyl or aryl, X is-SO2-, -CO-, -COCO-, -CO-O-, -CONH(R13)-, -COCO-O- or -SO2-NH(R13)- and R13 is H or the same meaning as R12.
